Killingly Public Schools is located in northeastern Connecticut’s “Quiet Corner,” near the Massachusetts and Rhode Island borders. Strategically positioned at the crossroads of New England, the town of Killingly is less than an hour from the educational and cultural attractions of Hartford and Providence, and 90 minutes from Boston and New Haven. The district’s facilities include a high quality accredited early childhood education center, two elementary schools, one intermediate school and a comprehensive high school with a regional agricultural education center designed for students interested in careers in agriculture or agriculture-related fields. Killingly Public Schools is proud of its achievements and works to meet the needs of all students, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged and geographically isolated backgrounds. The district’s schools and programs have received numerous state, regional and national awards. Killingly Public Schools’ three-year District Improvement Plan is aimed at increasing student achievement. Killingly High Schools offers all students a variety of College Career Pathways (CCP) that can earn credits toward college. A Career Pathway is a coherent sequence of rigorous academic and career courses that begins in high school and leads to an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree and beyond, and/or an industry-recognized certificate or license. Career Pathways are developed, implemented and maintained by partnerships involving educators, community leaders and employers. For students looking to explore the teaching profession, we offer a CCP in Education and Human Development—Early Childhood Education.
